The City wants a structural report
Before the department will accept any repair, it wants a licensed engineer to assess the building. Until that report is filed, nothing else on your notice can move.
- Do I need a permit?
- This normally needs a permit before work starts. We file it.
- Who actually does it?
- Our own crews. This is work we self-perform, so the schedule is ours to keep.
- Am I unusual?
- Not at all. This is one of the items we are called out for most, and it is rarely the only thing on the notice.
What the inspector was looking at
Visible structural distress. A failed critical examination on a taller building. Damaged structural members or pier blocks.
What happens if you leave it
This is a hard gate. Owners lose months on their case simply because nobody told them the report has to come first.
